From Chollas Mead Elementary regarding Staff Appreciation Lunches

The staff lunches have been such a meaningful experience for our team. Beyond the delicious food, we really appreciate the variety and abundance because everyone is able to enjoy the meal without feeling limited. As teachers, we are constantly moving from one responsibility to the next, so having dedicated time to sit together, connect, and build relationships with colleagues has been incredibly valuable. You can truly see the thought and care that goes into planning these events, and it makes staff feel appreciated and supported.

From Chollas Mead Elementary regarding wellness visits for students experiencing grief

The grief group provided a safe and supportive space for staff to connect, reflect, and process difficult experiences together. It was comforting to know there was a place where people could openly share, feel heard, and support one another without judgment. Opportunities like this remind staff that their emotional well-being matters just as much as their professional work, and it helps strengthen the sense of community and care among colleagues.

School Counselor

From JCCS regarding their Therapy Program

The therapist has been an invaluable asset to our team, bringing both professionalism and genuine compassion to her work. She has significantly enhanced our student support services, seamlessly complementing our efforts with her deep understanding of student needs. From the moment she began working with our students, her experience and intuitive approach have allowed her to build meaningful, therapeutic connections. Her ability to engage with students—especially those who were previously resistant to counseling—has made a profound impact. We’ve witnessed young women who once remained closed off begin to open up, embrace support, and take meaningful steps toward personal growth.

Lindsay School

From Willow Elementary

I am incredibly grateful for The Positive Movement and their heartfelt generosity shown to our school community. Their support has gone beyond what I believed sponsors can contribute to a school- they have hosted free monthly lunches, a sound bath, and acupuncture for our teachers and staff. The most memorable act this school year was ensuring that each student left school with a gift for the holidays in December. For many of our underprivileged children, this gift was an unexpected spark of hope. Thank you, The Positive Movement, for being an integral part of our school community!

From Sherman Elementary, regarding the sensory room

We are profoundly grateful to +MVMNT for the transformative impact your generous donations have made on our elementary school community through the creation of our sensory room. Thanks to your support in purchasing these essential sensory items, this space has become an integral part of our daily school setting, benefiting a wide array of students. Our Extensive Needs classes now thrive during their daily scheduled sessions, while individual students find a crucial sanctuary to when feeling overstimulated during the hectic lunch or recess blocks. Furthermore, the room serves as a powerful tool for positive reinforcement rewards and much-needed brain breaks for students across the school. Led by our dedicated Occupational Therapy team—who have beautifully organized the environment, instituted clear rules, and established a seamless sign-in/sign-out system—every piece of equipment is meticulously maintained to ensure long-term success. Your contribution has truly changed lives by providing our students with the exact tools they need to regulate, focus, and succeed each day.

From Knox Middle, regarding Saturday Schools

At Knox Middle School our students don’t have access to many of the art programs due to impacted schedules, funding and availability of accredited teachers. However, on Saturdays a professional artist comes out and works with them doing something they enjoy. Having “fun” at school is important and also helps students to make up attendance, learning loss and helps our site re-coup lost funding all on Saturdays. Likewise, the CPR certification opens up our students to be able to babysit and get skills for their first jobs. They get a CRP certification card which is not offered at school and likewise opens doors for their future. Lastly, the soccer class on Saturdays is a favorite of not only our soccer team but students who couldn’t commit to the entire season. The coach really cares about our students and students really connect with him for the love of the game. Thank you Positive Movement for the support and access for our students at Knox

From Knox Middle, regarding the Incentive Field Trips

  1. Students appreciate going on this field trip every year. It is one of the most talked about and favorite events of the school year. It provides them an opportunity that many of them would not otherwise have and encourages them to have good attendance, citizenship, and grades in their classes. It also gives teachers an opportunity to build rapport with their students outside of the normal classroom setting.
  2. Knox Middle has 50 student Circle Leaders. Once a week, these students go into other classrooms and lead a community building circle. This helps students gain confidence in speaking and communicating with their peers. These 50 students are leaders on campus and help create a positive environment at Knox. Because of the Positive Movement, these students got to attend a field trip at Dave and Busters. It was great to celebrate the Circle Leaders for all the hard work they did throughout the school year. The kids got to eat, play games, and win prizes. They had an amazing time. According to one 8th grade Circle Leader, “Dave and Busters was the best trip we took this year. The food was great and it was so fun to play games with my friends”. Thank you Positive Movement!

From Lemon Grove Academy Middle

Our partnership has been a catalyst for growth, and we’re seeing real, measurable impact at LGAM. While we’re still finalizing multi-year data, the preliminary outcomes and staff reflections point to a campus that is stronger, more connected, and more resilient than ever.

Over the past two years, we’ve witnessed a significant transformation in school culture and climate. Suspension rates have steadily declined down an estimated 6% reflecting our collective commitment to restorative practices and proactive student support. Even more striking is the estimated 50 to 60% reduction in major behavioral incidents and office referrals, particularly those involving physical aggression. These numbers tell a story of students feeling safer, more supported, and more capable of making positive choices.

Our attendance rate now holds strong at 93%, a powerful signal that students feel connected to school and are showing up ready to engage. We’ve also seen promising academic momentum: while state testing results are still pending, early internal assessments show growth in both ELA and math across grade levels, another sign that our efforts are making a difference where it matters most.

One of the most telling indicators of school health is our 100% teacher retention rate this year. Staff are not only staying, they’re thriving. They report a deep sense of purpose, collaboration, and pride in their work. Many speak to the supportive leadership, the shared vision that anchors our work, and the consistency that brings calm and clarity to daily life on campus.

As we continue to collect and finalize data for the past three years, these early findings affirm what we’ve experienced firsthand: our partnership is driving progress, building capacity, and creating the conditions for students and staff to thrive.

In reference to our support of revamping Central Elementary’s Sensory Room

The sensory room has been a transformative addition to our campus. We’ve seen students who previously struggled to remain regulated in class now able to return to learning after just 10–15 minutes in the sensory space. It has quickly become a vital support for our students with sensory processing needs, ADHD, autism, and anxiety. The room has empowered students to self-regulate, reduce frustration, and access learning more consistently. It has also provided a safe haven during moments of overwhelm, and has already helped reduce classroom disruptions and emotional incidents. We are incredibly thankful to the Positive Movement for helping bring this vision to life.
